Our latest feedthrough is an example of the industry-leading hermetic technology, and cryogenic seals that Douglas Electrical is capable of providing as a hermetic connector manufacturer. It is the first hermetic connector that uses epoxy to create a true hermetic seal, against the conductors and steel fitting. It’s the most compact, and easily mounted cryogenic feedthrough available. The breakthrough in hermetic sealing techniques and cryogenic sealing materials that is behind this new technology is that we use the thermal expansion mismatch between epoxy and metals to our advantage to create these hermetically sealed products. The shrink of epoxy improves the bond strength in these glass to metal seal connectors in both the fitting, and the copper conductors.
