Coaxial feedthroughs are designed to transmit signals and data in vacuum and pressurized environments including vacuum chambers, control cabinets, and gloveboxes. Coaxial feedthroughs feature two conductors sharing a common axis. The inner conductor carries small signals and the outer conductor shields signals against electromagnetic interference. At Douglas Electrical Components, we manufacture custom hermetic coaxial feedthroughs to meet specific customer requirements. Our hermetic coaxial feedthroughs can be easily integrated with various connectors, including SMA – for low and high frequency, BNC (Type N, Mdot), MCX, MHV, SHV, SMC, TNC, UHF, and more. Alternatively, Customers also have the choice between a standard or custom bulkhead mechanical interface.
In addition to our coaxial feedthrough offerings, we also provide Triaxial Feedthroughs. With options such as Triaxial Bulkhead Connectors or Triaxial BNC Connectors, we offer versatile solutions to meet your specific needs. Whether you require standard configurations or customized designs, our expert team is dedicated to delivering high-quality Triaxial Connectors tailored to your design requirements increasing EMI shielding and frequency range.
Douglas’s engineering team will work with you to integrate hermetically sealed coax connectors or wire into the bulkhead fitting. Our SMA bulkhead feedthroughs are a popular choice for signal and data transmission in high-frequency applications. These SMA bulkhead feedthroughs feature space-saving designs and ensure shielded, low-loss transmission of high-frequency signals through the wall of vacuum systems. We can hermetically seal virtually any coaxial connector. We can also hermetically seal coaxial cables in any wire length. In addition to this, customers can also choose from a wide variety of hermetic feedthrough mounting styles, including jam-nut bulkhead, CF flange, KF flange, radial O-ring, and customized options. Our coaxial feedthroughs mounted on KF-style flanges are widely used in high vacuum environments for demountable connections. Contact us today to build the best hermetic coaxial feedthroughs for your vacuum applications.

FAQ
Does Douglas offer miniature hermetic coaxial feedthroughs?
Douglas Electrical Components can manufacture miniature hermetic coaxial feedthroughs with a jam-nut type assembly. Overall, we traditionally package our feedthroughs for vacuum environments as a complete assembly with multiple coaxial connection points.
Additionally, Douglas has the design capability to integrate other types of connectors into the same coax feedthrough assembly, such as D-sub, RJ-45, and Micro-D connectors.
What is the typical lead time for a coaxial hermetic feedthrough?
Lead time is dependent on the level of customization of the design as well as sourcing of non-stock items. Overall, our lead time is typically 6 weeks AAO (after acceptance of order).
What are Triaxial Feedthroughs?
Triaxial Feedthroughs are specialized, high-performance components used for transmitting signals and data in environments with high pressure or vacuum conditions. They feature three conductors sharing a common axis, providing enhanced signal integrity and reliability. Triaxial feedthroughs also provide increased electromagnetic interference (EMI) protection with a triple shielding of the conductor. Gold plated contacts increase conductivity and corrosion resistance.
What Sets Douglas Triaxial Feedthroughs Apart?
Our Triaxial Feedthroughs boast superior shielding capabilities, minimal signal loss, and compatibility with a wide range of connectors. Hermetically seal with the triple shielding incorporated in a triaxial feedthrough to ensure no leak paths within the bulkhead connection. Backed by our renowned expertise and advanced technology, we offer unmatched performance and reliability.
