FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DOUGLAS ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WILL ATTEND AUTOMOTIVE LIDAR 2019 IN DETROIT, MI IN SEPTEMBER 2019
RANDOLPH, NJ. — Douglas Electrical Components will be attending Automotive LIDAR 2019 on September 25th & 26th, 2019. The 2nd Annual Conference and Exhibition will be held in Detroit, MI at The Henry Hotel. This is the only conference around the globe to bring in speakers and exhibitors that work solely with LIDAR technologies and applications.
Electronics failures can bring critical automotive functions to a sudden halt, which can range from being a minor inconvenience to potentially life-threatening. These functions are especially important in fail-safe automotive applications where LIDAR or camera sensors are used. Applications include driver-assist functions like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, forward and rear collision warning, lane change assist, intelligent parking, cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot detection. There are many reasons electronics failure analysis experts can point to for potential malfunctions in automotive functions but the leading cause of malfunctions is moisture. This makes it essential to keep moisture out of electronic cavities. One of the most successful methods of protecting key components from water hazards involves hermetically sealed electronics cavities — enabled by moisture-blocking component assemblies such as hermetic feedthrough technology. Learn more about how hermetic feedthroughs block moisture.
At this year's Automotive LIDAR Conference, we look forward to discussing our custom electronics sealing capabilities which allow critical LIDAR systems in automobiles to avoid system malfunctions due to moisture ingress. When using Douglas’ epoxy-based technology to create hermetic seals around circuit boards or wires, extremely low leakage levels of less than 1x10-8 cc-He/sec can be expected. More information is available in our white paper on how hermetic feedthroughs block moisture in tomorrow's automotive electronics.
The entire team is excited to be part of the conference and looks forward to meeting other experts to discuss how to propel this industry forward. Please find more information about the conference below.
